PETANCA BISTRÓT

The latest studio assignment is for a new restaurant in the center of the Sant Antoni neighborhood, Petanca Bistrot. We were commissioned to do the interior design, furniture, accessories and graphics. Our goals have been to totally change the look of the place by adding warmth, informality and feelings of home. A complete facelift, changing all the windows and doors to ones that are folding allows us to merge the inside with the outside. The iron profiles were left with transparent paint, showing the raw material even the welds, the beauty of imperfection. The wall was stripped bare and we let you appreciate the naturalness and the multi-layered old paintings and other old elements. On this wall we hung many wooden coat racks and also embedded petanca balls. Most of the furniture is second-hand or made by us, creating three small tables and two that are large to share as if they were at home. A lot of plants are added in the place, giving a perfect combination with the wood and naked metals. We were inspired in this renovation by the wabi-sabi aesthetic category that refers to those things that have a rustic finish, all that is incomplete, not permanent and imperfect. Imperfect is perfect!
